Dr. Ellis has worked with insurance companies for over 30 years, both in two different hospital settings and multiple private office settings. As a result, she is acutely aware of the limitations of working with insurance companies.  

These limitations include:

1. Limited number of doctor visits allowed.
2. Expanding list of non-covered services (grows longer every year).
3. Fewer provider options for patients.
4. Required referrals or pre-authorizations (meaning extra doctor visits and co-pays).
5. Unclear or changing benefits.
6. Vague, unclear, or incorrect benefit verifications from insurance companies to doctors' offices (often leading to inaccurate medical cost estimates, usually at your expense).
7. Maintenance or wellness visits are typically not covered.
8. Increasing deductibles or co-pays (resulting in more out-of-pocket costs).
9. Doctors adding extra or non-covered services to compensate for reduced insurance payments (again, more out-of-pocket costs).
10. Non-covered flat fees added to covered services, such as "specialist" or "expert" fees, often seen in surgeries to offset declining insurance payments (more out-of-pocket).
11. Hidden fees, like receiving a bill from an out-of-network provider, lab, or facility—without prior notice—when you thought you were seeing an in-network doctor (yet more out-of-pocket expenses).

—all of which will delay your recovery, limit your care, and increase your costs. 

Even after all that....insurance companies focus on short-term solutions for symptoms and diseases, often emphasizing medications and surgeries, rather than preventative or wellness care.

If your policy covers chiropractic care, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for out-of-network benefits. We also accept HSA, FSA, and Flex payments for your convenience.
